What a crew!

The crew of six at Yachtfinders comes from varied boating backgrounds and all are active on the San Diego waterfront. They have experience in boat design, construction and commissioning. They are racers, cruisers, instructors and live-aboards. They have spent time on all types of power boats, sailboats and multihulls in all parts of the world. All have owned their own boats and lived aboard (no strangers to boat maintenance!). Our strength comes from a dedicated team approach to boat buying and selling. Read on if you'd like to get to know us better!

Yachtfinders/Windseakers image Ron Gullan
Co-Founder of Yachtfinders/Windseakers and President since 1982. Ron departed from his native country of South Africa in 1967 on a 35' gaff-rigged wooden cruising sailboat. After two years of extensive cruising (the old-fashioned way - with no electronics and no engine) in the Atlantic, Caribbean and Pacific Oceans, He landed in Hawaii where he spent the next several years racing sailboats while attending the University of Hawaii. Ron has a US Coast Guard 100-ton captain’s license with sail and towing endorsements, He has done coastal deliveries in both power and sail boats and is comfortable operating all types of vessels up to 75-feet. Other boating venues have included San Francisco Bay and Delta area, Lake Tahoe, Southern California and Mexico. Ron recently sold his Olson 40 sailboat and is experiencing being boatless for the first time in over 25 years. “A unique experience that I am sure will not be long-lived,“ says Ron.

Yachtfinders/Windseakers image Clark Hardy
Clark was exposed to sailing by his parents in San Francisco Bay before he could walk. As a young boy he raced dinghies and crewed on race boats at California Yacht Club in the junior sailing program. He moved inland for a number of years to live and work in Yosemite National Park and attend College in Fresno. Clark continued sailing and racing boats on California lakes, as well as owning and operating marine businesses including a marina and commercial tour boat operation. The purchase of an Olson 40 brought Clark to San Diego. The boat is outfitted to cruise along the Pacific Coast and enter an occasional race. Upon arriving in San Diego he began managing and racing sailboats at local clubs as well as competing in distance races. Clark joined Yachtfinders/Windseakers to be a part of a winning team!
